Another IDC company goes overseas to Southeast Asia: Guang Huan Xin Wang plans to build an intelligent computing center in Malaysia

Southeast Asia, with its rapidly growing data center needs, is becoming a hot spot for Chinese IDC companies to expand overseas.

On the evening of November 27, Guang Huan Xin Wang released an announcement stating that the company plans to jointly invest with its controlling shareholder, Zhoushan Baihuida Venture Capital Partnership (Limited Partnership) (hereinafter referred to as "Baihuida"), in the construction of an intelligent computing/cloud computing base project in Malaysia, with an initial plan to build 2,500 6kW cabinets.

According to the announcement, Guang Huan Xin Wang and Baihuida plan to each establish a wholly-owned subsidiary SPV1 and SPV2 overseas. Subsequently, SPV1 will invest 75% and SPV2 will invest 25% to jointly establish SPV3 in Singapore. SPV3 will then invest in the establishment of a project company, Company 4, in Malaysia, which will invest in and construct the intelligent computing/cloud computing base project.

The planned investment project is the Guang Huan Xin Wang (Malaysia) Cloud Computing/Intelligent Computing Base Project, located in Johor, Malaysia. The project plans to use 14.4 acres (approximately 87.37 mu) of land, with a total project IT load of 45 megawatts. The initial phase plans to build 2,500 standard 2N 6kW cabinets, with an IT load of 15 megawatts.

"After completion, the park will provide domestic overseas companies and customers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia with high-customization, high-availability, and high-security data center lifecycle services."

Guang Huan Xin Wang stated that, considering various factors such as actual business needs, project management capabilities, and project risk control, the construction period for the initial phase of the project is expected to be 24 months. The initial project funding includes RMB 375.65 million in self-raised funds, with the remaining funds obtained through domestic and foreign bank syndicated loans and other financing methods.

IDC circles understand that the location of the Guang Huan Xin Wang (Malaysia) Cloud Computing/Intelligent Computing Base Project, Johor, Malaysia, is a few tens of minutes' drive from Singapore. VNET and Qinhuai Data have also chosen this location to build data centers.
