61 million yuan investment! Weifang City Kuiwen District's first data center is under construction!

Digitalization has become a major trend in today's economic and social development. The generation, storage, and interconnection of massive amounts of data have placed higher demands on regional computing power and the level of digitalization. New infrastructure, represented by data centers, provides new opportunities for the rapid recovery and enhanced resilience of the regional economy. As the central urban area of Weifang City, Kuiwen District has been lacking in data center construction. To strengthen its computing power foundation, the Kuiwen District Big Data Bureau of Weifang City, after nearly a year of investigation, research, and negotiations, officially launched the China Unicom Kuiwen Cloud Computing Center project in the first half of the year. This is the first data center in Kuiwen District, Weifang City. Currently, the project has completed the installation of 300 racks, and other supporting facilities, such as environmental control equipment, are under construction. The China Unicom Kuiwen Cloud Computing Center project is located in the Weifang Unicom communication hub building at the intersection of Baotong East Street and Yuanfei Road. It is invested and constructed by China Unicom, with a total investment of 61 million yuan, and is planned to accommodate 600 racks, creating a big data development cluster that gathers data elements, high-quality enterprises, and high-end industries. The data center covers approximately 6,000 square meters and is planned to be constructed in two phases: Phase 1 will invest 49 million yuan to build an enterprise cloud data center that can accommodate 300 racks and complete the construction of environmental control equipment and supporting facilities; Phase 2 will invest 12 million yuan to build another 300 racks to meet the needs of business expansion. The data center construction adheres to the principles of making the best use of existing resources and being economical. In terms of location selection, it makes full use of existing building space, with scientific and reasonable layout, and optimizes and upgrades the power supply system, cooling system, monitoring system, etc., to achieve efficient utilization of computing resources and green, low-carbon development. The project strives to become a model and benchmark for integrated green and low-carbon innovation in big data centers. During the project construction, new models for the joint construction of enterprise clouds and government clouds are fully explored and researched. On the one hand, an "enterprise cloud" is built to provide a stable and reliable data storage environment, data processing, and data services for industries and service sectors in Kuiwen and surrounding areas, meeting the business development needs of industrial functional zones in Kuiwen District and its surrounding areas, and achieving industrial digitalization and digital industrialization. On the other hand, in accordance with the requirements of trusted cloud deployment, the construction of Kuiwen District's government cloud is explored based on the actual situation, referring to the provincial trusted cloud construction standards, and the already built, under construction, and planned information system platforms are migrated in an orderly manner to provide system deployment and security management for various departments and units of the district government. After the completion of the data center, the computing power will reach 60P Flops, and it is expected to serve more than 1,000 enterprises. Digital empowerment is expected to help enterprises achieve an annual profit of 1 billion yuan and tax revenue exceeding 100 million yuan. It will become a core carrier of government services and an important engine for the digital transformation of traditional industries, providing computing power support for accelerating the deep integration of new generation information technology and the real economy, implementing the digital transformation strategy, developing the digital economy, and building a strong digital district, contributing big data strength to building a "better Kuiwen."
